U.S. Resumes Weapons Shipments to Ukraine after Brief Pause
President Trump announces resumption of weapons shipments to Ukraine after a brief pause.

What Happened?
The Trump Administration has resumed weapons shipments to Ukraine after a brief pause last week. During a dinner this week President Trump commented on the reversal, saying ‘We have to. They have to be able to defend themselves. They’re getting hit very hard now.’ The shipments contain defensive weapons including air defense missiles.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said America’s renewed arms support to Ukraine ‘obviously contradicts any effort toward peace’ and accused the U.S. of deepening the conflict rather than working toward resolution.
Why it Matters
Russian air, missile, and drone attacks on Ukraine have increased significantly in the past several weeks, causing extensive damage to Kyiv and other targeted cities. During the first two years of the conflict, Russian air attacks consisted of smaller numbers of drones than what is currently being seen. Either Russia has procured new batches of drones from makers like China, or they have gotten better at coordinating large clusters of drones for their attacks.
The U.S. air defense weapons will play a critical role in blunting the Russian air attacks. Though it’s likely even with new air defense missiles Ukraine will probably not be able to stop all the incoming Russian drones due to the sheer numbers involved.
Crypto's "Once Per Cycle" Wealth-Building Moment Is Here
We’ve entered the next phase of the crypto cycle—where smart capital moves early and retail follows late. With fundamentals stronger than ever and institutional adoption accelerating, the window to act is now. While others wait for certainty, the informed few are positioning for outsized gains.
President Putin has never really demonstrated sincere interest in the peace process, instead he has treated negotiations as way to divide western nations and to get them to stop sending weapons to Ukraine. The Trump Administration has been affected by Russia’s tactics, though the recent resumption of weapons shipments to Ukraine suggests President Trump’s patience with Russia is wearing thin.
Of the U.S. weapons shipments, Ukraine’s deputy speaker of parliament said, ‘It’s the right decision to help Ukraine save the lives of civilians while Russia escalates terror against Ukrainian cities, residential buildings, and social infrastructure.’ The increase in the intensity of Russian air attacks is part of Russia’s summer offensive, which is putting more pressure on the eastern Donetsk region of Ukraine.
Despite the increased intensity of air and ground attacks, thus far in the summer of 2025, Russian ground forces have made little progress in conquering new stretches of Ukrainian land. Ukraine’s own use of drones has proven effective against Russian tanks, armored vehicles, and most importantly personnel. A steady flow of arms and supplies from European nations has sustained Ukrainian forces even as U.S. support has arrived in fits and starts.
How it Affects You
Both Ukraine and Russia appear to be prepared to continue fighting for the foreseeable future, and negotiations have essentially ground to a halt. While Russia controls roughly one fifth of Ukraine, it holds mostly the same land it held during the first year of the conflict, having made little progress on the ground since then.
