President Trump and the President of Iran Both Address the American People

President Trump and the President of Iran discuss the current war with Iran in a televised address.

What Happened?

U.S. President Donald Trump aired a prime-time televised address to the nation last night to discuss the current war with Iran. Among the claims made by President Trump was that the U.S. is now ‘totally independent of the Middle East. We don’t need anything they have. We are there to help our allies.’ He also claimed that the U.S. had already achieved total military victory, but that bombing would continue for at least a few more weeks.

Hours prior to President Trump’s televised appearance, Iran’s President Pezeshkian published an open letter to the United States and claimed that Iran had never ‘in its modern history, chosen the path of aggression and never initiated any war.’

Why it Matters

President Trump’s address appeared to be geared towards shoring up domestic support for the war in Iran, which remains unpopular with the American public. Two-thirds of Americans already believe the war has gone too far, a number that has been consistent across a range of different public opinion polls since the war began a month ago.

President Pezeshkian’s letter was also aimed at the American public, and it attempted to try to persuade Americans that war with Iran is not in their best interest.

Unlocking $2.1 Trillion Potential

One company has developed a technology that extracts valuable resources from coal without burning it. From hydrogen to diesel, fertilizer, and more, Frontieras has the potential to address $2.1T worth of markets.

It’s similar to when John D. Rockefeller commercialized oil refining technology. If Frontieras captures just 2% of the global coal market, they have a roadmap to achieve a $1T valuation.

They just completed the land purchase for their $850M flagship facility. Now, with their NASDAQ ticker (FASF) reserved and the White House favoring domestic energy, this company is positioned for potential valuation impact.* Become a Frontieras shareholder before their share price changes on April 9.

During his address, President Trump did not explain why, if Iran’s military has already been destroyed, further attacks are necessary. Nor did he specify what the targets would be in the coming weeks or when the war might end.

President Trump did say he believed there had already been regime change, and that the new group is ‘less radical and much more reasonable.’ He did not specify exactly who is leading this new regime, but it is possible there are competing factions in Iran, all claiming to be in charge, and the Trump Administration has been in contact with one of the factions they deem less radical.

President Pezeshkian’s letter told a very selective version of history and made no mention of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) longstanding support for Hezbollah, the Houthi, and most recently, Hamas.

Nor did he mention the uprising in Iran, which took place in January, where Iranian security forces likely killed tens of thousands of Iranian protestors. His attempt to portray Iran as an innocent bystander in the Middle East was breathtakingly dishonest and suggests he is no more trustworthy than the Supreme Leader or the IRGC.

How it Affects You

The dueling efforts to influence the opinion of the American public by President Trump and the President of Iran illustrate the importance of winning the war of perception, not just the physical battles. Scholar Bernard Lewis once wrote that the only thing capable of stopping the U.S. military is American public opinion.

Alongside the physical battles in the Middle East, the battle to control what people think about that war continues to be waged online using a variety of new tools, including AI generated images and videos, which have flooded the internet in the past month. All sides seem to agree the battle to control the narrative of the war is just as important as the war itself.
