Poland Downs Several Russian Drones That Entered Polish Airspace
Poland’s Air Force, along with NATO down several Russian drones that entered Polish airspace.

What Happened?
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk announced the country's military, along with an unspecified number of NATO aircraft, had shot down several Russian drones that entered its airspace during an attack on western Ukraine on Wednesday. NATO later posted on X, ‘numerous drones entered Polish airspace overnight and were met with Polish and NATO air defenses.’
There was no immediate comment from Moscow. Poland’s military characterized the Russian drones as an ‘unprecedented violation’ of the country’s airspace. At least one of the drones hit a building inside Poland, but there were no immediate reports of fatalities or casualties.
Why it Matters
The incident is the first time NATO air assets have directly engaged Russian forces since the war in Ukraine began in 2022. The Russian drones appeared to have been part of an attack on Ukrainian forces near the Polish border, and it is possible the incursion into Polish airspace was unintentional. Mechanical malfunction or battle damage could cause drones to stray off course.
Bigger than DoorDash’s $79B Explosion?
When DoorDash first hit the scene, critics brushed it off as “nothing new.”
And here’s the kicker: they were right.
Yet the founders of this "delivery business” knew something that the rest of the world missed.
Today, DoorDash is worth $79 billion, with a valuation increase of 110,800% for early investors.
But there may be a second chance with a company that recently grew 32,481%.
No, it’s not a food delivery service…
It’s a company that rests at the intersection of three fast-growing global markets, driven by the same vision of turning personal assets into income streams.*

There are over 8 billion smartphones and Mode has gained the support of over 50,000 investors.
Their last two rounds were oversubscribed at $0.30/share and only limited room remains in the current one.
The reaction from Europe was immediate. During a state of the union speech given Wednesday morning, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen condemned Russia's ‘reckless and unprecedented’ incursion into Poland's airspace while adding Europe ‘stands in full solidarity’ with Warsaw.
Russia has yet to comment on the matter, but the loss of unmanned drones is unlikely to elicit much reaction from either the Russian government or the Russian people. Both have been largely indifferent to Russia’s mounting human casualties in Ukraine, which makes it unlikely they would put much emotion into the loss of a few unmanned drones.
Drones have become the weapon of choice for Russia and Ukraine, accounting for most of the battlefield casualties in the past two years. Because drones are relatively cheap and disposable, they make ideal weapons for carrying out long-distance missions. Errant Russian drones have landed in NATO territory before, but in those instances, the drones were single and landed without hitting any manmade structures.
Had there been any deaths or injuries on the Polish side of the border, this could easily have escalated into a major incident, bringing NATO and Russia to the brink of open conflict. Poland is a country that has been transformed by the war next door in Ukraine. In many ways, Poland is already on a war footing, and Poland has accepted more Ukrainian refugees than any other country in Europe.
How it Affects You
Given the increasing number of Russian drone strikes across Ukraine in the past several months, an incident like this was simply a matter of time. It underscores how close NATO and Russia really are to finding themselves in direct conflict. Despite recent diplomatic efforts to end the war in Ukraine, it remains the world’s most dangerous conflict.
