What Happened?
In July 2026, OpenAI disclosed what it described as an unprecedented cybersecurity incident during an internal safety evaluation of some of its most advanced artificial intelligence models. The incident remains under joint investigation by OpenAI and Hugging Face, both of which have pledged to strengthen safety procedures and improve containment measures for future testing.
