Iran Launches Massive Retaliatory Strikes at Israel

Iran launched over 100 drones at Israel in one of its latest retaliation attacks as President Trump pushes Tehran officials to make a nuclear deal before it's too late.

What Happened?

Iranian officials launched several attacks toward Israel on Friday as part of the latest retaliatory measures carried out against Israeli forces.

Iran first launched more than 100 drones in retaliation on Friday after Israel's 'Rising Lion' operation reportedly conducted strikes on more than 100 major targets.

During televised remarks, IDF spokesperson Brigadier General Effie Defrin said that Iran had launched its drone attack and defenses were already 'working to intercept the threats.'

IDF officials said later in a statement on Friday that 'another volley of dozens of missiles was launched towards' Israel.

Iran said Israel's attack was deemed a 'declaration of war,' quickly replacing top commanders who were killed, according to reports.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a statement on Thursday stating that 'Israel took unilateral action against Iran.'

Although the U.S. was not involved, Rubio stated, 'Iran should not target U.S. interests or personnel.'

The Trump administration says its top priority is protecting American forces in the region.

Why it Matters

President Donald Trump took to Truth Social on Friday and claimed that his administration gave Iran two months ultimatum to ‘make a deal’ surrounding concerns involving its nuclear plans.

'I told them what to do, but they just couldn’t get there,' Trump said following Israel's attack. 'Now they have, perhaps, a second chance!'

Trump added, ‘The United States makes the best and most lethal military equipment anywhere in the world, BY FAR, and that Israel has a lot of it, with much more to come.’

Those warnings all center Trump's push for an Iranian nuclear deal with the U.S.

It's a deal Trump hopes will happen as Israel acts unilaterally to prevent Iran from getting a nuclear weapon.

The IAEA board ruled on Thursday that Iran violated its obligations to fully cooperate with inspections and for amassing highly enriched uranium.

U.S. officials said Iranian negotiators have reportedly become ‘much more aggressive' surrounding such talks.

It comes as Israel has increased its offense after recently launching its first seaborne attack against the Iranian-backed Houthi rebels.

'Iran must make a deal, before there is nothing left, and save what was once known as the Iranian Empire,' Trump said. 'No more death, no more destruction, JUST DO IT, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE. God Bless You All!'

How it Affects You

Israel's increased military attacks now threatened to reverse progress made during Trump's recent Middle East tour.

As a result, continued U.S.-Iran nuclear talks are now reportedly in jeopardy.

The inspired vision during Trump's second term of expanding the Abraham Accords also appears extremely unlikely.

NATO will work to de-escalate the conflict involving Iran and Israel which could expand into something worse and widespread in the Middle East.
