Gunmen Kill Six and Injure Twelve at Bus Stop in Jerusalem
Gunmen kill six and wound a dozen at a crowded bus stop in Jerusalem, the deadliest shooting in Israel since 2024.

What Happened?
Gunmen opened fire on rush hour commuters at a bus stop in Jerusalem, killing at least six Israelis and wounding twelve. The attackers, who were Palestinian according to Israeli authorities, were themselves shot and killed by Israeli soldiers.
The shooting was the deadliest in Israel since October 2024. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu visited the scene and later issued a statement saying, ‘We are now pursuing and surrounding the villages from which the murderers came. We will catch everyone who helped them, everyone who sent them.’
Why it Matters
Since the attacks by Hamas on Israel in October 2023 and the subsequent Gaza War, there has been a significant increase in violent incidents in the West Bank and Israel itself. Operations by the Israeli military against militant groups in the West Bank have risen since 2023, and the number of attacks by Palestinians against Israelis has gone up as well. In a real sense, the entire Israeli and Palestinian populations are at war with each other now.
Apple committed $600B to America. Here’s who could benefit most
Apple made headlines with a $600 billion commitment to American manufacturing – the largest in US history.
That means billions for new jobs, new factories, new labs, and new opportunities in the smartphone industry.*
Every time a tech giant reshapes its supply chain, entire ecosystems benefit.
Some are component suppliers, and some ride the surge in mobile engagement those devices create.
Mode Mobile is one of those companies.
With 50M+ users in 170 countries and 32,481% revenue growth, Mode’s platform pays people for the phone time Big Tech has been taking for free.
Apple’s investment means billions more devices in circulation, more engaged users, and more opportunities for platforms like Mode to monetize mobile attention.
And here’s the kicker…
While Apple’s stock is already priced for perfection, Mode is still pre-IPO, with shares available at early-stage pricing.
They’ve secured their Nasdaq ticker $MODE, and their pre-IPO offering is live now.
But space is limited, and their previous round sold out at $0.30/share.
Apple’s move may get the headlines, but Mode could make the gains.
The bus attack in Jerusalem fits the pattern from earlier rounds of conflict between the Israelis and Palestinians. During most outbreaks of hostilities in the past several decades, Israeli military superiority was rarely in doubt, so Palestinian attackers often focused on targeting Israel’s civilian population directly. Since Hamas cannot challenge Israel’s military directly, it is again resorting to terrorist attacks on Israel. These types of attacks will likely continue for the next several months.
From the viewpoint of both Palestinians and Israelis, each new terrorist attack and round of military action hardens beliefs, ensuring the cycle of violence will continue. Though Hamas and other Palestinian militant groups have no hope of defeating the Israeli military directly, they can make everyday life difficult for Israel by carrying out attacks like the bus stop shooting in Jerusalem.
Hamas applauded the attack but did not claim responsibility for it. Having suffered extensive losses in Gaza, for the moment, Hamas probably lacks the manpower or resources to carry out this type of attack against Israel. The bus shooting could have been carried out by a new militant group or a different Palestinian faction, as the identity of the attackers has yet to be made public.
While Israel continues to destroy Hamas in Gaza, it is also expanding military operations in the West Bank. Increasing violence both in Gaza and the West Bank points to an increase in hostilities, even as many world leaders have called for restraint and de-escalation.
How it Affects You
While Israel is achieving nearly all its military goals in Gaza and the West Bank, those actions could trigger a new wave of terrorism. The Jerusalem bus shooting and rising violence in the West Bank suggest the initial phases of such a new wave of terrorism may already be underway.
