What Happened?
The 2026 Group of Seven (G7) summit has begun in Évian-les-Bains, France, bringing together leaders from the world's major advanced democracies at a time of significant geopolitical and economic challenges. The annual gathering includes the leaders of Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, the United Kingdom, and the United States, along with representatives of the European Union and several invited partner nations. The summit is being hosted by French President Emmanuel Macron and is expected to conclude on June seventeenth.
This year, the summit's agenda has been dominated by the wars in Ukraine and Iran, in addition to economic competition with China, energy security, and the rapid development of artificial intelligence. Leaders are also discussing global debt problems, supply-chain resilience, and international trade disputes.
Why it Matters
One of the most significant developments at the summit thus far has been renewed support for Ukraine. G7 leaders issued a joint statement reaffirming their backing for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity while vowing to put additional pressure on Russia through sanctions and other economic measures.
The leaders also discussed continuing military and financial assistance for Kyiv as the war remains one of the central security concerns facing Europe. The G7 used to be the G8, but Russia was expelled following its illegal annexation of Crimea in 2014…
Apple just enabled Starlink satellite support to T-Mobile iPhones.
One of the biggest potential winners from global satellite coverage?
Just about everything Elon touches turns to gold:
SpaceX IPOs at $1.77T
Tesla up by over 30,000% since IPO
And now - iPhone’s get satellite access
But while Wall Street focuses on Apple, Mode Mobile is quietly positioned to capitalize on this global satellite revolution.
Their EarnPhone technology already:
Reaches 490M+ users worldwide
Helped those users save and earn over $1 billion
And that was before global satellite coverage.
With SpaceX eliminating "dead zones," Mode's earning technology can reach 3B+ unbanked people globally in rural populations worldwide.

Right now, you can still invest at $0.52/share.
Over 59,000 shareholders have already claimed their shares and they’ve just secured the $MODE ticker from Nasdaq. The time to invest is now, before any potential IPO.*
The Middle East has been another major topic for the G7 summit. Leaders are examining the implications of a developing agreement between the United States and Iran and discussing regional stability, energy security, and the future of shipping routes through the Persian Gulf.
Concerns about potential disruptions to global energy markets have prompted discussions on diversifying energy supplies and reducing dependence on vulnerable transportation chokepoints such as the Strait of Hormuz. No new agreements have yet been announced on those topics.
Economic issues are also receiving substantial attention. G7 governments are seeking ways to address what they view as growing imbalances in the global economy, particularly regarding China's industrial production, trade practices, and dominance in critical minerals and rare-earth supply chains.
Many member states view these resources as essential for advanced manufacturing, renewable energy technologies, and national security. As a result, leaders are exploring greater cooperation on securing strategic supply chains and reducing vulnerabilities.
Artificial intelligence (AI) has received more attention this year than in previous G7 summits. Several leading technology executives joined discussions with world leaders to examine both the opportunities and risks associated with AI.
Topics include safety standards, misinformation, economic disruption, and the protection of children online. The inclusion of AI among the summit's top priorities reflects the growing recognition that emerging technologies will play a major role in shaping future economic growth and international competition.
How it Affects You
G7 countries are among the most powerful and prosperous in the world, meaning those nations exert enormous influence over the global economy and world affairs. Even if no new agreements are reached, even slight changes in policies by the G7 can have global ramifications.
