Egypt Training Palestinian Security Force to Replace Hamas
Egyptian government begins training thousands of Palestinians to provide security in Gaza and replace Hamas.
What Happened?
Egypt is training as many as 10,000 Palestinians to become part of a security force to replace Hamas in Gaza after the war with Israel ends. According to Egyptian officials, security training at Egyptian military academies, for those Palestinians selected has already begun.
A majority of the Palestinians in the new security force would come from the Palestinian Authority’s security services in the West Bank, while the remainder would come from the authority’s Fatah faction.
Why it Matters
Fatah is a secular nationalist Palestinian political party and a major Hamas rival. Hamas by contrast is led by an extremist religious ideology dedicated to the complete destruction of Israel. While Fatah has often been critical of Israel or at times violently opposed to some Israeli policies, Fatah does recognize the possibility of co-existence with Israel. Hamas does not.
The real big data play – Palantir’s 1,597% vs 32,481% company no one’s talking about
Anyone who invested in Palantir at IPO in 2020 could be sitting on nearly 1,600% gains right now.
But that great return is already in the past, and the stock is now one of the S&P 500’s most expensive.
But while Palantir was climbing on the back of your public information, another company was redefining big data.*
Mode Mobile has already delivered 32,481% revenue growth before even going public.
Mode has:
50M+ users

Pre-IPO shares available for a limited time
Mode’s model pays users for their screen time and turns Big Tech’s free data mining play into a cash-generating engine for everyone.
Palantir now trades at 245× forward earnings, which means Wall Street has already priced in massive expectations.
But Mode?
Still private.
That means the market hasn’t had its say yet.
Right now, everyday investors (not just insiders) can get Mode shares at early-stage pricing.
When the Nasdaq ticker potentially goes live, that window could close fast.
50,000+ shareholders have already invested in their recent oversubscribed round at $0.30/share.
Palantir’s moment has passed.
Mode’s may just be starting.
Opposition to Hamas has been increasing in the Arab world, and the recent action by Egypt to train Palestinian security forces is significant. Egypt is the largest, most populous, and most influential country in the Middle East. Egypt is also home to Al Azhar University, the most prestigious center of learning for members of the Sunni Islamic religion. The move by Egypt to train security forces to handle governance of Gaza is a major blow to Hamas.
Egypt has not been alone is its criticism of Hamas. Saudi Arabia and Qatar have also publicly called for Hamas to be disarmed and disbanded. Saudi Arabia is the most wealthy Arab nation in the Middle East, and because it is home to Mecca and Medina, it is also an influential voice in Sunni Islamic affairs. Taken together, the stance by Egypt and Saudi Arabia to openly criticize Hamas and plan for its replacement represents a major loss of regional support for Hamas.
While the move by Egypt will likely be welcomed by Palestinians who want Hamas gone from political leadership, it could create problems for Egypt itself. Al Azhar University is home to a number of religious extremists who sympathize with and even openly support Hamas, which means the Egyptian governments stance could put them at odds with leading religious scholars in Cairo.
How it Affects You
Egypt has a secular government that has tried to root out religious extremists from its ranks, as has the Egyptian Army which is the most powerful and influential institution in Egypt. The plan to oppose Hamas could pit Egypt’s government against religious scholars in Cairo, which has led to violent extremism in the past. It could potentially usher in a new wave of religious extremism and terrorism in Egypt, or it could extinguish extremism from Al Azhar.
In either case, a new round of conflict between the forces of modernity and religious extremism could begin to play out in Arab world’s biggest country.
