What Happened?
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has approved a new initiative to help states verify registered voters' citizenship status by accessing federal databases. The program is expected to launch later this month and be available nationwide ahead of the midterms this fall in an effort to strengthen election integrity and improve voter registration accuracy.
Under the plan, state election officials will be able to submit voter registration records to the Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program, a federal database used to verify immigration and citizenship status. The initiative would also provide authorized election officials with access to citizenship information maintained by agencies such as U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), the Social Security Administration (SSA), and the U.S. State Department.
DHS also has plans to coordinate with the U.S. Postal Service to monitor mail-in and absentee ballot activity for unusual patterns that could indicate potential fraud or misuse. The proposal includes requirements for official election mail to display clear identification markings and tracking barcodes to improve transparency and accountability in ballot handling.
Why It Matters
Giving states direct access to federal citizenship databases improves the accuracy of voter registration records while helping ensure that only eligible citizens participate in federal elections…
Apple just enabled Starlink satellite support to T-Mobile iPhones.
One of the biggest potential winners from global satellite coverage?
Just about everything Elon touches turns to gold:
SpaceX projected IPO at $1.75T
Tesla up by over 30,000% since IPO
And now - iPhone’s get satellite access
But while Wall Street focuses on Apple, Mode Mobile is quietly positioned to capitalize on this global satellite revolution.
Their EarnPhone technology already:
Reaches 490M+ users worldwide
Helped those users save and earn over $1 billion
And that was before global satellite coverage.
With SpaceX eliminating "dead zones," Mode's earning technology can reach 3B+ unbanked people globally in rural populations worldwide.
We’re talking about emerging markets with no infrastructure.
Right now, you can still invest at $0.52/share.
Over 59,000 shareholders have already claimed their shares and they’ve just secured the $MODE ticker from Nasdaq. The time to invest is now, before any potential IPO.*
While Americans’ confidence in election integrity seems to sway notably depending on who wins office and who doesn’t, these measures could strengthen public confidence in election results by reducing concerns about outdated voter rolls and potential voting irregularities.
The initiative will also introduce new tools to track mail-in and absentee ballots, with federal officials saying the measures are designed to improve transparency and accountability throughout the election process. If successful, the system could help states identify registration issues more quickly while providing greater visibility into ballot activity from the moment ballots are issued through their return and counting.
Some questions do remain about how citizenship information will be managed, how potential errors will be corrected, and whether the new verification process could inadvertently affect eligible voters.
How It Affects You
Americans have become increasingly suspicious of elections over the past few years, and this trend shows no signs of slowing. But now states will have more tools to verify voter eligibility and maintain accurate voter rolls. By connecting state election officials to federal citizenship databases, the system can now identify registration issues more quickly and reduce the likelihood that ineligible individuals remain on voter lists.
The true impact of the initiative won't be measured by the number of databases it connects or procedures it creates, but by whether it strengthens public trust in the electoral process. As states prepare to use these new verification tools ahead of midterms this fall, the program is poised to become a major test of how new technology and methods can work together to address long-standing concerns about voter eligibility and election security.
