What Happened?

Tucker Carlson unveiled a 10-point political manifesto this week, intensifying speculation that a breakaway faction within the Republican Party could eventually challenge President Trump's direction. While Carlson did not announce a third party or a 2028 presidential campaign, he described the platform as the foundation for "whatever comes next." He indicated that it could take different political forms in the years ahead.

The manifesto reflects growing dissatisfaction among a segment of Trump supporters who believe the administration has drifted from the "America First" agenda that helped reshape the Republican Party over the past decade.

Carlson criticized U.S. involvement in the Iran conflict, called for a more restrained foreign policy, pushed for rebuilding American manufacturing, endorsed stricter immigration measures, and argued for greater government transparency. He also questioned U.S. support for Israel and embraced several positions associated with Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

Carlson's message has gained support from several prominent conservatives who backed Trump but now argue the movement is losing sight of the priorities that originally united many Republican voters.

Why It Matters

The growing divide within the Republican Party is becoming a debate over the future of the conservative movement and the priorities that should define it. Disagreements over foreign policy, immigration, government transparency, and the role of the federal government could influence which issues dominate the remainder of President Trump's term and how Republican lawmakers position themselves in Congress…

Apple’s price hike just made this opportunity more interesting

Apple just made smartphones even more expensive, raising the price on most of their products by $200 or more.

Consumers are paying more than ever for technology that gives them nothing back.

More expensive devices. Higher upgrade costs. Still no way for users to share in the value their phones create.

Mode Mobile is building the opposite model.

Instead of a smartphone that only costs money, Mode gives users the opportunity to earn from the devices they already own.

Just like Uber turned cars into taxis, and Airbnb turned homes into hotels.

And the results speak for themselves:

  • 490M+ users reached

  • $1B+ earned and saved by EarnOS users

  • $115M+ cumulative revenue

  • 32,481% 3-year revenue growth, Deloitte’s #1 fastest-growing software company in North America in 2023.

  • $MODE Nasdaq ticker secured

As premium devices get pricier, Mode’s timing looks even more compelling.

Consumers need technology that gives value back.

Advertisers and AI companies need permissioned first-party data.

That divide is likely to become more visible in this year's midterm elections. Candidates may face pressure to align either with Trump's agenda or with conservatives who argue the party has moved away from its original America First platform. Competitive primaries could expose those differences and shape the makeup of the next Congress, which will have a ripple effect on everything from defense spending to border security.

The disagreement is unlikely to end with the midterms. If this faction continues gaining support, the Republican presidential primary in 2028 could become a contest over what America First actually means.

Candidates may find themselves choosing between defending Trump's approach or embracing a more isolationist and anti-establishment vision championed by figures like Tucker Carlson. Even if no third party emerges, the fight over the movement's identity could become one of the defining battles of the next presidential election and split voters on the right.

How It Affects You

Candidates who once ran under the same Republican banner may now split over foreign wars, immigration, government secrecy, spending, and major donors. That could make primaries more consequential than general elections in heavily Republican states and districts.

The divide could also affect what Congress gets done, as lawmakers worried about challenges from the right may demand tougher oversight or push harder on border and trade policies. Others may stay closely aligned with Trump to protect support from the party's base. Regardless, these competing pressures could stall legislation or force Republicans to negotiate internally before acting.

The schism now unfolding inside the Republican Party could make individual candidates matter more than the party label itself. As competing visions for the conservative movement take shape, voters may have to look more closely at where candidates stand on foreign policy, immigration, spending, and the role of government rather than assuming Republicans are united behind the same agenda.

It's tough to even speculate how everything will play out, but the outcome has major implications for the party's future, as well as the policies those on the political right choose to pursue if they retain or gain office.
